It's funny, how some people tend to not think before they speak

I'm glad it happened before I started practice because for the next 4 hours, I managed to forget about everything....

I managed to not think about it...

That to me, is the magic of dance. No wonder I'm still at it till today.

Anyways, for someone who hasn't spoken to me for almost half a year, am definitely brought aback by their blunt assumptions and yet I chose to bid them farewell with all the smile I had left while in the midst of my class.

At the end of the day, I owe a thousand thanks to friends like these for they have indirectly trained me, day by day, to develop a heart of steel; one that is immune to anger and sadness.

I will fret no more over it.

Because what doesn't break me, makes me stronger.

Sometimes those factors are not determined by me myself. I have got to learn how to be more open and to accept things as they come my way and not only want things MY WAY. I've got to learn.

Insights from the Interview and Educational Trip

30^th December 2010. This date shall go down in history as the class of BMR 3114 Selling and Sales Management BM 350 finally went on an educational field trip to Kuala Lumpur. We were required to indentify a company of our interest that is located close to Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur and interview its manager to get to know more of the sales strategy, operations and activities and most importantly, understand the sales force and methods that are being applied by the company.

At precisely 10.00am, we gathered at Multimedia University’s infamous roundabout as instructed by Mr. Jason Lam( THe man in the middle of the picture with a peace sign). All handsomely decked in formal clothes, we took off, gladly leaving behind the campus that we constantly have to face every single day. This trip gives us a breather as well as a break from our usual daily routine of having to go to an enclosed class room. The 2 hour bus ride didn’t felt like it was long at all as our beloved lecturer was busy entertaining us with all of his real life true stories. I am glad he is willing to share his stories because at times, I find it to be very much relatable to my very own real life situations. Although so far it seems like it has been all play and no work, honestly speaking, my team has got our targets set and locked down. Our target and goal of the day is to interview the Senior Account Executive of 7-11, Mr. Ta Chee Hoi.

The moment we reached Times Square, we immediately contacted Mr. Ta to reconfirm our interview that was set to be at 3pm. He gave us the green light and there we were, rushing off into the mall to make sure we look our best after a 2 hour bus ride. Our presenters even practiced outside of the toilets while the others went around the mall looking for a gift for Mr. Ta. The gift was to be given after the interview ends as a token of appreciation.

At 2.45pm, we made our way into the building where the 7-11 office was at. After a formal meeting with Mr. Ta, he led us to another floor where the interview would be held. This is one of the most eye-opening events that I noticed during our meet. This is because, instead of using the lift like a Senior Executive would, he insisted on using the stairs. This shows that Mr. Ta himself is a down to earth person regardless of his post in 7-11 and doesn’t mind using the staircase to get to another floor. This is definitely something we could learn as future leaders. Our interview commenced after all our members and Mr. Ta himself settled down in the meeting room. Below are the tasks that have been assigned to each member during the interview:

The interview went well and ended after 40 minutes. Although Mr. Ta is not exactly from the sales department, but being the professional he is, was able to answer most of the questions we have provided. At the end of the interview, Mr. Ta gave us samples of mineral water produced by 7-11 and with that;

We ended the interview session with a picture with Mr. Ta himself as seen in the appendixes provided.

Neatly packing our books and slipping our files into our bags, we changed and got ready for the highlight of the trip which is to go shopping!

I must say, everyone was relieved that the interview was over as we finally got to loosen up and go have fun.

The group had lunch together at Times Square’s Mr. Teppanyaki which serves delicious Japanese cuisines and then parted ways as some headed back to their hometowns whereby the others wanted to shop for clothes.

We hung around Pavilion and Sungei Wang as the girls shop while the guys being the gentleman that they are, carried the girl’s bags.

Time flies when we’re having fun because before we know it, it was time to go home.

You’d think that the bus ride on the way home would be quiet as all of us are tired, but you are wrong. The bus was still filled with much excitement because via this trip, we were able to make new friends and foster those who were already friends to begin with. We shared our experiences on the bus as well as the goods that we managed to purchase while we were busy shopping.

Although we were a little exhausted after all the walking, but I must say that we definitely made the best out of this trip. I would like to put aside the little obstacles we had to go through in order to get an interview in Kuala Lumpur and think of how the team worked together as one to make the whole process productive yet fun at the same time. I would also like to thank our lecturer, Mr Jason Lam for believing in what is best for the students which is to combine academic and the practical world that we one day will face once we graduate. With this, I would like to end this report with my favorite quote of all times (stolen by my own blog):

Though I am very very thankful that even with Battleground happening in the midst of last sem's finals, i still manage to maintain my cgpa.

However, I know that it is wrong to study one day before the exam then travel up to KL right after the paper ends.

F.Y.I : I never ever leave the exam venue earlier than the designated time given to finish up a paper. However, last sem, i rushed through my Macroeconomics paper and finished it within 1.5 hours and zoomed out of the exam hall to KL for rehearsals.

LOL. epic ey? I even woke up early in the morning in KL before my competition to study.
But it is still insufficient as I only manage to score 3.63.

Just woke up after sleeping for a good 12 hours.
I don't know what's gotten into me because I don't usually sleep that long regardless of how tired I am.
Maybe because I'm now down with a flu..

I'm here to blog about how I made pizza with my cousins yesterday!
It was our first time as we've always wanted to try making it but I didn't have the time T_T

We even made the dough from scratch!!

After calculating our cost, we found out that we used RM40 on the overall cost but that gave us 9 medium sized pizzas!!
Am not gona go for Pizza Hut anymore I tell ya =p

I'm already in the midst of typing my Astro Battleground experience =) I hope I won't be able to post it too soon because this means, I'll still be in the running and thus, would have more things to write about to share with you guys.

For now, let's just say that the opportunity Battleground has given me so far has already left me with a memory that would put a smile on me even when I'm 40 =)

Uniform Dance : Marching Band ( This we get to choose ourselves, we are required to choose a type of job that has a uniform like a nurse. However, we chose a Marching Band. ALL TEAMS ARE REQUIRED TO INCLUDE AT LEAST 30 SECONDS OF WAACKING INTO THIS ROUND)
Country Dance : Egypt ; Cleopatra and the King ( We got assigned to Egypt)
Story Line: A strange object falls from the sky while you're taking a stroll on the park. On the object, it has two buttons. One button would take you back to 500 years ago. Another button would bring you to 500 years towards the future. Decide and press one of the button. Your journey begins....... ( This, we chose ____ . ;)

SO our next round would be on the

5th of November - Classical
1 group will be eliminated
6th of November- Fairy Tale & Uniform Dance
2 groups will be eliminated
7th of November - Country Dance & Story Line Dance
2 groups will be eliminated

This means that you have to prepare for all 5 dances although it is not a confirmed that you'll get through to the next round.
That is how gruelsome Astro can be XD At the end of the 7th of November, the remaining 4 groups will battle it out in the Grand Finals on god knows when. I'm not sure XD

I guess that's all for now. I've to go crack my head on finish up our waacking choreography by tonight! Sorry for this short and Battleground-based post. =D

This way way back but I thought I'd blog about it now before I hit the sacks.
I'm uber tired now..that's for not sleeping last night and going for beach training the next morning.

Anyway,

A few weeks ago, I went up to KL with Zach & Siew. ALL with different intentions. =p
I went up for a Ponds ( you know, the old school facial cleanser?) TV commercial shoot.

This guy = Roger
called me up a few days before the shoot asking if I would want to join.
It was a paid shooting so WHY NOT! haha!!
I'd like the experience as well.
Now that I have it, I don't think acting's MY kinda thing. XD I shuck.
Anyway, Roger picked me up from my sister's place in Kota Damansara at 4.30am.
(I've never woke up so early in KL before)
since our call time is at 6am.. I think?
Thanks for the breakfast Roger! =D

At the shoot,
I was an extra.
ALL of us were.

Except for this beautiful lady.
She was the leading lady in the shoot.
THis was a scene whereby all of us extras had to simply lie down on the floor
and the 2 male and female lead would do their acting.
In the process, fake rose petals were thrown down from above to create the ambiance.
An awesome sight to see I must say

The MOST interesting part about the shoot was a part about
' Human Dominoes'
We basically just fall directly onto each other and thus, creating a humanly possibly human dominoes.
It was a scene in a cafeteria whereby we're all lining up, then someone from behind trips and starts of the dominoes.
Does it hurt?

I miss her.

You know, I did not cry the moment I found out of her death 2 years ago.

I wanted to stay strong as I did not believe that she had left us.

Everyone was shocked to see that I, the goddaughter finally broke down on the last day of the prayers.

I cried the second her coffin went into the crematarium.

I have feelings too. Just that I choose not to show the sad part to the people around me.

Now tears are flowing as I type this entry.
I went to the temple with my grandma just now.
I couldn't believe that I was there to pray to my godma.
I tried my best to hold my tears in as I want to be strong for my grandma.

When I was first asked to teach this showcase,

without hesitation,
without thinking of WHO I'd be dealing with,
without thinking about the time i'll have to sacrifice,

I said YES.
I mean like, why not? I like the dance and the artist. Have I mentioned that I already knew half of the dance even before I started? =D

Hence, I got stuck with these 6. Plus another one more who went home early.
Note: In this picture, ALL of them were camwhoring.
However, this was after practice ended.
They hardly play around when I'm teaching.

I didn't have to tell them to not play with their handphones during class.
Good girls they were.

When I told them to jump higher, they'd jump higher.
I've never met any group of students that would practice on their own even when I've yet to instruct them to.

So, after finishing our competition at about 1am yesterday,
we stayed on at Subang Parade for the World Cup finals.
After the match, we found out that Jardian's car,

Had to wait until it was 6+am for the gates to open.
We hung out at Old Town for our UBER late dinner. It was 5.30am.

Started our journey back to Malacca at 7am.
I took over the wheel halfway through the journey.

Yeap. this is my first post using my li N97 mini. Anyways, just finished a performance at homosapiens...met a few friends and a few friends who r photographers actually came to try their hand at capturing the event. (u know who u are...) it was a fun night.. i really liked the group We Are Not Zombies. My left shoulder...got this while I was learning how to 'suicide'. Oh the irony of the word.
Don't wry. It's just a move in breakdance. =)
State: recovering well. Only a little can be seen.

A blister on me finger.
A day after I got the blister, my finger swelled for a few hours. It got infected I think?
State: No more swelling. Skin peeling.

I think I got this from learning the 'suicide' as well.
F-U-G-L-Y like mad. No kidding.

State: right knee is healing slower but the bruise is less visible.

Both knees had bruises thanks to a 'locking' step in our recent choreography.

Currently in KL =)

Had seafood dinner over at a place called

Pantai Seafood Restaurant located at Kayu Arah.

The food was so-so. Incomparable to the one we had for my brother's birthday.

Though the place had a better ambiance with over a dozen of aquariums filled with shell fish, the food was no better than a restaurant whose kitchen and seats were separated by a road.

I'm going to turn 19 in an hour or less.

Last year, I had one of my best birthdays. My friends got together to buy me my very own camera! (thanks to someone).

This year? I have no idea how it's going to be like.

I can only remember mentioning to Geral that I wanted the same style of gift they gave Chan for her 19th birthday.

It was where we got a dress for Chan and she would have to wear it for her birthday.

HAHA!! Me and my nonsensical wishes.

All I know is, I will not apply make up if forced to. XD (sorry but...i really despise it.)

I'm excited to be in KL on the eve of my birthday. Mainly because,

Left my house at 7.25 assuming that JPM's simply a short 5 minutes drive from my house but dang...I forgot that it's a Monday and there's actually SCHOOL.

I wasn't very late though...Reached the venue, decked in a plain-fitted grey top by TOPSHOP, skinnies and my all-time-favourite black peep-toed heels.

Went into the waiting room and was rather surprised. 98% of the girls there wore a collar-T.

The other 2 % consisted of me and another girl. Oh well, as long as we all looked descent.

I liked the waiting room over at Jabatan Pendidikan Melaka. We were placed in a pretty grand meeting room with super comfty chairs! So, in order to make the best of my time waiting, I took out the novel, paper Nautilus. I was only at Chapter 3 that early morning. ( I just finished it a 6.35pm. That's why I'm able to spend some time to type this entry.)

When it came to my turn, I stood up from my seat and peered around the room like an ostrich. Anxious to see who shared the same fate as me. Together, we took a step into the 'NORTH POLE'. ----> The room was so friggin cold, I could swear I twitched a few times as if I had twitching issues.

Topic: Electronic medias such as the mobile phone, computer and computer games are affecting young people nowadays. Discuss its affect on

A) Study Habit ---> Your Royal Highness got this.

B) Daily Life ---> Indonesian-Malay-look-a-like boy got this.

C) Social Relationship ---> Malay-rebel boy got this.

D) Global View ---> A purely chinese-educated girl got this.

The thing is, both of the guys are from most of my classes. I've seen them and I think they've seen me a couple of times. Just that, we've never said hi. Until the end of the session. I'll tell you why later.

We proposed our respective ideas to support ideas. Then, it was time for the group discussion. I started it off in order to not waste time. So here's a summary of how it went.

LYN: I support candidate B's points. bla bla bla~

Chinese Girl: I support candidate B's point too. bla bla bla~

Malay-Rebel: I disagree. I think studies is most affected. bla bla bla~

Indonesian-Malay-look-a-like: I agree with candidate C. bla bla bla~

After 6 minutes, each of us stood to our points until...

LYN: BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA!!!!!!!!!!!So, what do you guys think? (I was already smiling to myself at this point. I can't stay serious for long.)

Chinese Girl: *speechless* ---> I actually directed my response at her.

Indonesian-Malay-look-a-like: Hm.... After what that you have just said...I think I have no choice but to agree with you.

XD!! hahaah!! Him & I gave out a slight giggle thanks to his way of responding. haha!

Our conclusion? We didn't have one T_T Damn, I was yapping right up to the point the invigilator once spoke after 10 minutes.

Overall, I think our group did okay. Everyone spoke up. No one was shy. Lack of content maybe, but not so shy. =)

As I was leaving the premise, the two malay boys from my group drove pass me. One of them in the passenger's seat gave me the thumbs-up and the other one smiled as he waved goodbye.

BOTH OF THEM DAMN SELAMBA LAH I TELL YOU!! hhaha!!!

So I guess now, we know each other. After a year of being in the same degree together.

I was actually pretty down today...despite all the stress from my current studies
[ Screw Foundations in Finance. I friggin failed the midterm for this paper. I think this is the first paper I've failed since I started my studies in MMU. I blame my gastric attack whereby I got hospitalized 3 days before the paper.]

Plus, I still had to go and conduct a dance class in town earlier this evening. Rushed to the studio from the library. When I started dancing, I felt dizzy out of a sudden...my sweat and body felt cold though I'm moving around alot. SO I guessed. The fever is back =( Felt like fainting but whattodo.

Okay, in other words, a ' pretend meeting' with a
pretend CEO and pretend Secretary and a pretend Human Resource Manager and loads more.
I got appointed as Chairman aka the CEO by my group members because according to our lecturer, the Chairman has to know how to conduct the meeting and make it run smoothly.

I don't know how in the world I manage to score it but MAYN!! I was so nervous as I had to listen to everything every person said in order to ensure the meeting runs smoothly.
Hello~ the lecturer was sitting right across the table!!

Bet she even saw that huge distracting pimple scar I had on my nose [ Mind you, over 10 people asked me what happened to my nose. So how distracting was it? Go Figure.]

One thing that I couldn't stand was that when I directed a question at the so-called Human Resource Manager whose role is played perfectly by none other than Ng Wee Kiat, I almost burst out into laughter but hid it by lookin down on my notes. OMG. Seriously can't stand him being so serious. Cannot. Cannot. XD

She complimented our group after the session ended..she liked a few of the presenters and ahem ahem...said that Your Royal Highness coped well with the situation. (blush blush)

Clash of the ' Top Achievers'

I had steamboat for dinner early this evening with my mum, grandma and brother.

I footed the bill using my 2nd month pay from dance lessons =) I feel good. Though its inexpensive but there will be more to come. I want to give back to my parents and my grandma not just by using my savings but my hard earned money from the skills my parents had given me. The ability to listen and flow with the rhythm.

[ If you haven't noticed, my family's very musically inclined. How much? Hmm.. my house just welcomed another keyboard! The 4th keyboard! Go figure.]

After dinner, I went over to Italy Bakery to get myself some bread as I wasn't as full as I thought I would be XD Got myself superbly awesome over the top Portuguese Egg Tarts and Fruit Flan Cake!!!!

Now, I'm relaxing in front of the computer about to head the bunks real soon.

I slept at 4am and woke up at 7am. I know. Why wake up so early on a beautiful Saturday morning?? Remember this?

I was contemplating whether to attend it or not. Somehow felt like I didn't belong. After much thinking, I decided to attend the event since some of my other friends will be going as well.

Woke up at 7+ to get ready and headed to campus and met Daniel, Eggy, Heng Chang, Tua Pek Gong, Thien Ming and a few others there =) Thien Ming was sweet enough as he tried to help me get out of the talk since I had class at 9am which I attended for a little while to copy some notes.

The talk started at 10. Wasn't very inspirational I must say. What's more interesting is that I was sitting next to one of my tuition mate's bf! He recognized me and knew that I and his gf knew each other.haha (Jhillien was my tuition mate back in F4 and F5!) What a small world! Her bf is doing accounting and is also one of the top achievers =)

The talk ended and we were divided into groups for a Q & A session. My group consisted of only Marketing students. Most of whom I've seen before. During that Q & A session, we were asked to talk about our studying experience in MMU.

Study Experience = Complaints about MMU

XD !!! Every group seemed to be doing so. i guess the lecturer wants to find out what else MMU can do to improve the system for its students. Hence, the small group survey via Q&A session.

What we complained about?

- sucky course registration system

- the current car park issue ( my lecturer dare claim that the staff themselves are having problem with the lack of car park. Man did we give her a piece of our minds)

- sucky lecturers

- sucky fascilities

One thing I really don't understand is that, I don't know so as to why we had to kip on comparing our uni to others such as Monash and Sunway as per requested by the lecturer in charge of my group. I think she wishes she somehow teaches in those universities rather than MMU -.-

The session ended at about 1.30. I was mad starving by then. Next destination? Main Hall for

" Top Achievers Special Appreciation Lunch"

what special lunch?

food was served only an hour later. it was buffet style.

Imagine 200+ students trying to get food from the buffet table all at once.

The table providing the food isn't even big.

After we had our lunch, the awards ceremony began.

Thien Ming won the top student award for the Accounting Faculty. *congrats!*

Sulin won the top student award for Human Resource Faculty =)

That's all I can remember because I know these two people!

However, not only one person from each faculty is awarded. At least 2. I don't know how the system really works but I think, only the top student from say for example, Beta year is awarded. The student with the highest CGPA that is. duh~

Did your royal highness win it?

NOPE! not smart enuf. whattodo~~ XD

However, watching my friends accept the award was definitely inspiring. Im saying this now but I don't think I'll be able to make it.

" I want to someday receive an award like that"

On a survey form given to us earlier on during the Q&A session, one question went something like this.

" What is it that will continue to motivate you to be a top achiever?"

From this event, I learned to always be humble despite that big Einstein brain of yours. Never discriminate.

After doing the show for my friend
I realized
Modeling or at least the runway isn't for me.
I can't friggin walk in em 4 inch heels properly!
UNLESS!!!
it's for some hip-hop themed runway!! ;)
However, I'm glad my friend asked for my help.
This friend of mine is also my student in one of my dance classes.
She's 25 this year. Can you believe it? She looks so young!

I will have no further regrets in my life because I've done all of these at least once before.

I just got back from my English presentation feeling rather flustered and angry.

WHY?

My presentation was at 5pm today. I left my house at 5pm XD. Alright. No biggie.
I ran with heels to class with my hair all wet.

I only started preparing for the presentation 30 minutes before 5pm. I even went to bathe in between. Hence, I was very nervous once I reached the lecture hall. Our group was about to go up NEXT.

I got up and presented as the first speaker on our business plan regarding
Online Grocery Delivery Service.
At the end of my presentation, I inserted a *wink* just to play around with the lecturer.
You'll understand why if you were there watching me.

Our presentation went quite well despite Wu Yan not being able to join us cause of personal family matters. I stayed on right up till the end of class with Rong Xin to get some feedbacks from the lecturer. -.-

If you came to my blog because you saw my status on FB, here's WHY.

Lecturer: I personally liked a few of the presenters. Their way of presenting leaves an impact on the audience. I like that girl..what's her name...*looks around the class*. AH! THAT GIRL.

Why?
I'm regretting for not joining the Solo Dance Competition organized by COTY.
Us Dynamix won COTY 2008 and but it wasn't even publicized.
I wanted to join this year's since it's under a sexy dance category.
I felt confident. at first.
I knew that I wanted to represent Dynamix & Malacca.
In the end, I found out that I wasn't brave enough.
I chickened out.
For that, I am now furious at myself.
I'm afraid Malacca would forever be stuck at 'a' level.

1/3/2010 = The day i got warded for Gastric Flu + Infection

Most of u might already know.
I got warded last night at about 12am into Pantai Hospital.
I vomited 6 times during the process.
At one point, I couldn't take it anymore and i practically sat on the toilet floor in my home until my mum came back.
My parents quickly took me to the hospital.
It was painful. the aching. yes. I cried.
I was first suspected for Appendicitis. If so, I would have needed to go under the knife asap.
Luckily, after a few tests, it showed that there's nothing wrong with my stomach..no growth or anything. I simply had terrible gastric flu and an infection.
Now, I'm glad to be back home.
I promise to take my meals regularly from now on and to never skip a meal.
This is an experience I will never want to repeat.

Didn't get the memo

The last Friday before the New Years and I had to attend 2 more hours of Advanced Management English lecture.

I jumped out of bed at about 8.10 and washed up. I then slipped into a tank, jeans and a jacket.
[MMU does not allow their students to bare their shoulders. Sorta, kinda. -.-]
Off I go!!

Oh! My class is at 8am by the way XD! I'm late late late!

Got out of my car and saw Mr Kevin!I reached the class at 8.30 along with the online article which I've printed out last night. I wanted to get it approved in order to start on my critique essay that's due the week after Chinese New Year. However, as I drew closer to the class,
I noticed that the class was dark, hallways were empty and the only person around was the janitor.

Fell from a 'show' during cheer practice today.
I friggin fell onto my friend's shoulder/head.
I'm feeling uber bad even till now.
I need to get indoor shoes!

My whole body's aching due to the Krumping Session us Dynamix had last Sunday. =(

All I felt like doing the whole day was to lay down on my bed and sleep but NOOOOoo...I had to move my aching limbs to class!

It hurts at times, but this is the only way I can break free.
I will never stop. I can't even if I wanted to.

Now, when I laugh or cough my abs would hurt.
[This I'm glad because this means that I'll have toned abs! XD]

You see, now I'm tired already though it's only 12am. Supposed to head up to KL tomorrow but nobody is free to accompany me up! *Stares at all of you*. Thursday's my last chance or else I'll just rip off the curtain off my living room and simply wear it as a maxi dress. I'll make it work!
