2nd place= Shirtliff ( Ex-champions of 2008. Routine was not bad but sadly it wasn't enough for them to maintain their title. They've won champion in Cheer 4 times out of 10 already!)
3rd place= Calyx ( We first assumed that it was some nobody but when they performed, they became somebody! I wanted them to win!)
4th place= Titans ( Ex-champions of 2006)
5th place= Dynamitez ( Ex-champions 2007)
Performance by two of the judges from America. Both were once world champions in cheerleading!Must watch!
Special Awards:
Best-dressed= CALYX
Best-showmanship= Pirates ( An ALL-BOYS team. They were really good too! I thought they'd be in the top 5)
Best make-up= Blitzers, Calyx, and one more whom I've forgotten
Silky-girl Merit Award= I too have forgotten. AHAK!
Best-supporters= Blitzers.
Sha Maine, Sha Nisse, Jenn Yi and I sat at where Xavier's supporters were sitting and man!!! They were loud!!! Annoyingly loud at times yes. You now how obsessed these fans can be. Their cheer?

The Scorpion.Team Malaysia aka CHARM
They'll be representing Malaysia to Australia in a cheer competition this year!
However, it's sad to say that this was the most disappointing show of the day.
As Malaysia's main Cheerleading team, I expected a perfect yet clean routine by CHARM.
But during their performance, there were falls as seen in the 2nd picture, one of the fliers actually fell and couldn't go up for the pyramid. I know that mistakes can't be avoided but their performance last year was much better.
That explains why my expectations were so high this year.
My main reason for going for Cheer 2009 was to watch them!
I'll still continue to support Malaysia's cheerleading teams regardless.

She was rushed to the hospital immediately. The rest of the team went on performing without knowing that she was injured and had dropped out of the routine. -By CHARM themselves.
I sincerely apologise that I vaguely assumed that there were mistakes in CHARM's performance.True enough, injuries may happen and sometimes, at the oddest moments. Thank god she, (Melissa Campbell) has been treated and is now recovering. Now CHARM is in Australia competing in The 2009 AUS Cheer International Cheer, Dance & Aerobic Championships. Wish them luck! I'm sure they'll make Malaysia proud! They're CHARM!

gosh..the flyer dislocated her arm?? poor thing! the wonder... but overall their performance was realy realy good! best of luck to team malaysia! not forgettin'

Yeah, Melissa Campbell dislocated her arm in two places. The doctors had to sedate her completely to pop everything back in place. She'll be able to use her arm better in two weeks but she's not allowed to do any contact sports for six months.
The team spent the whole of last night rearranging the routine to suit 17 people instead of 18 and they'll be flying off tomorrow evening to Australia.
To Milo: Yeah..hopefully it'll open up soon..haha why?interested?haha
To Charm: omg..I didn't know..I'll change my post later regarding the fall...I knew charm wouldn't do such mistakes because last year's performance was awesome. It made non-cheerleading fans go "WOW!" I hope she recovers asap and good luck in the competition in Australia!!!You guys can do it!!
No problem. Injuries happen and sometimes at the oddest moment. It's better that it happened here where she could get medical attention straight away and so that the team can try to fix the routine to have a fighting chance at the competition.
It would have been very difficult if this had happened at the competition itself.
It's a pity though - we had a crazy flipping pyramid planned - people at Cheer 2009 would have seen it when the team was practising during the lunchtime breaks.
Really really sorry for assuming what I've assumed before this. I bet CHARM would do really well at the competition because I've seen CHARM performe at cheer 2008 last year and it was seriously awesome. They lived up to their names. But this year, an unwanted injury took place so it can't be blamed. I'm looking forward to watching more of CHARM's performances live!! Go CHARM!
Team Malaysia struck gold at Aus Cheer! 1st for Cheer Team, 1st and 3rd for Partner Stunt, and 2nd for Group Stunt.
heys, wanna correct stg :) team msia is not charm all stars. it's a combo of cheerleaders from a team called 'The Rebels' and from 'Charm All Stars'. so yar... team msia is not aka charm :p
